Issues

Local Aid

Local aid has been cut by nearly 40 percent since 2001. Our cities and towns deserve increased support from the state to help municipalities invest in school systems, fund road construction and maintenance, and promote economic growth.

Taxes

The Commonwealth’s residents face a heavy tax burden. Lower tax rates would ease this burden and attract businesses, driving additional investment in the state. Taxes should not be indexed to the rate of inflation, such as with the proposed automatic gas tax increase.

Economic Growth

Promoting fiscal responsibility and capitalizing on opportunities in the district is essential to ensure growth and development. Avoiding unnecessary and excessive spending is also a key component of economic success. Reducing the tax and regulatory burden on individuals and small businesses is one of Evan’s top priorities.

Accountability

In order to have a government that works for the people, we must increase accountability. Elected officials should be held to a high standard, and our institutions must work to increase transparency.

Public Safety

Evan is a strong supporter of law enforcement and public safety officials who work hard every day to keep our neighborhoods safe. He will listen to the concerns of officers throughout the district and advocate for our police, fire, and EMS on Beacon Hill.
